Daniel Vlček / Mika Johnson / Marcel Karnapke – live set for FF/LB (Studio Alta 22.04.2021)
Mika Johnson is a multimedia artist whose focus is dream-like narratives, mythos, ritual, and biodiversity. While his concentration is designing XR experiences, Johnson also works in many mediums, directing fiction and documentary films, music videos, and installations using imagery, text, and sound. Present musical collaborations include Theta Noir, a multimedia project inspired by a coming AI God called Mena, with Jakub Tranta, of The Envlps, and Awali.
In his work, Daniel Vlček references the multilayered nature of causality, using dichotomies such as visible / invisible, digital / analog and manual / machine. He first came to public attention as a member of the political audiovisual art project Guma Guar with Milan Miktulaštík and Richard Bakeš, with whom he also founded the duo Reverend Dick. He is also one half of the witch-wave duo ba: zel with Ewelina Vlček Chiu while simultaneously working on his experimental solo project Relaxcore.
Visuals and video was created by Marcel Karnapke. He lives and works in Berlin and is a theatre director, developer, as well as a lecturer and co-founder of the artist collective „CyberRäuber“, which realises new formats and applications for mixed realities in the context of classical theatre, opera and ballet. The focus of his work is on the fusion of high technologies with architectures of human narrative. Marcel’s work covers topics such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence future architectures as well as archaeology and reality reconstruction.
