The sonic structure of the installation is inspired by research into plant responses to surrounding sounds, particularly the buzzing of pollinators. Synthetic drone-like sound layers are generated in response to plant biofeedback, soil conditions, and other environmental data.

The installation creates a closed feedback loop in which biological signals trigger synthetic sound structures that may in turn influence the surrounding plant environment. Signals measured within the system – including plant biofeedback and mycelial activity from the project Resistance Effect – form a dynamic acoustic ecosystem.

Atmospheric sound layers connect organic processes occurring in the greenhouse with the activity of mycelium, generating a continuously evolving sonic environment.

Early Spring: Ephemeral Existences

The beginning of spring, when nature awakens and the air carries the intoxicating scent of flowers, is also a time of new hopes and inspiration. Blooming tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and clivias awaken the senses and, in connection with contemporary visual art, create a unique experience – this is the exhibition Early Spring: Ephemeral Existences.

The central theme of the exhibition of contemporary art presented alongside the blooming inhabitants of the greenhouse is the motif of transience and the direct touch of nature. Fragility and impermanence fundamentally shape the life of all natural organisms as well as the duration of temporary natural processes. For the exhibition Ephemeral Existences, artworks were therefore selected that not only engage with nature (including humans as part of nature), but also often work with unusual, delicate, or even ethereal materials and artistic principles—such as living plants, fungi, feathers and other natural materials, water, plaster, paper, plexiglass, reflections of light, textile prints, light projections, and sound.

With a predominantly sculptural character, the exhibition presents both inside and outside the greenhouse a range of contemporary artists and artistic approaches that move beyond traditional sculptural methods and media. Alongside sculptures, visitors will encounter a diverse spectrum of objects, small-scale installations, light projections, and sound interventions situated among the flowers.
